My Everything

When I look at you all I see is emptiness,
I’m looking into a stone cold abyss,
All the love that was once there,
Has dissipated into the air,
Without a fight or even a scream,
You are now gone,
You were my everything.
You’ve dug your grave and I’ve dug mine,
Yours was much bigger,
You’d had something to hide,
When the storm was upon us,
Every raindrop a bullet aimed at my heart,
You were in control,
You knew what you had to start,
Mashing every button,
Without any hesitation or refrain,
Every bullet a pro-longed impact,
When the curtain is called,
All’s left is the cracks.

Like a withering rock,
I was wearing away,
You didn’t listen to me when I asked you to stay,
Every waking day a reminder of your betrayal,
The blood now stale,
The roar of your heart finally burnt out,
No more compassion or lust,
It’s all given up,
It’s walked out.

You were my everything,
Now that you’re gone,
You expect me to cry,
To plead for you to hang on,
But now that I’m free,
Free of your devilish grips,
A weight has been lifted,
I’ve been blessed with a gift,
For now that you’re gone,
Oh don’t you see,
I’ll never see you,
And you’ll never see me.
